Realizing that enriched education will help nurture tomorrow's leaders, Capital City Savings supports numerous learning initiatives
Since 1990, Capital City Savings branches have been pairing with neighbourhood schools to enrich the educational experience of students. The goal of an educational partnership is to create a long-term mutually beneficial relationship between the branch and school. The program won the 1997/98 Conference Board of Canada Partners in Education Award. Currently we have partnerships in Edmonton, Devon, Drayton Valley, Entwistle, Gibbons, Legal, Morinville, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, St. Albert, Stony Plain and Wabamun.
Capital City Savings employees volunteer in the school to assist with school activities, attend special events, host receptions, sponsor awards and make presentations to students and parents on banking and credit unions. Schools visit the branch for tours, job-shadowing opportunities and for artwork and musical presentations.
