Elders among us are owed so much for they helped set the roots of our community
It’s our privilege to play a role in ensuring that the seniors you know receive support that enhances their quality of life and keeps their dignity intact.
Seniors’ Abuse Centre
Seniors experiencing physical, mental and fiscal abuse can find refuge and support in the Edmonton Seniors’ Safe Housing Centre. Capital City Savings was prompted to support this refuge by heartbreaking realities, including a 78% increase in senior abuse from 1999 to 2000 and a 125% increase in Edmonton’s Elder Abuse Intervention Team case load.

Society for the Retired and Semi-Retired
Through the Society, seniors can access services including income tax assistance, housing referrals, health services, guardianship consulting and a resource library. Support such as ours helps to make those programs and services possible, enhancing the quality of life for older persons in the Edmonton region.

Wise Owls/Heads Up
Realizing that the elderly in our community are often at risk of illegal and fraudulent schemes, Capital City Savings provides funding for the publishing of Heads Up brochures. Published by Wise Owls, the brochures alert seniors about deceptions such as telemarketing fraud, home renovation scams and "bank inspector" fraud.
