In 1938 the first credit union in Alberta began with the simple promise, to serve its members. The credit union was called Mangan and was one of dozens of credit unions that combined later to form Capital City Savings. When Capital City Savings arose from a major amalgamation in 1987 we promised our members financial health, community support, a well cared for staff, fully competitive products and services and, of course, the original pledge, to serve our members.
Our founders would be amazed to see that their dream which began with a $1.50 business license now has assets over $2.2 billion. Best of all, we still exist to serve our members.
